Holiday Let Supplies and Deep Cleans
Well it looks like we should achieve our end-of-January deadline for delivering supplies to all the contracts including the holiday lets we manage, so a big 'thank you' to all involved. We have also managed to book in all the annual deep cleans and servicing to our holiday lets well ahead of our March deadline which is a huge achievement for the teams, and was necessary this year because all of our holiday lets are busier than ever!
The cleaning and housekeeping teams have worked hard to stock-check and manage orders according to the booking forecast, shelf-life of products and storage on various sites. It really isn't an easy job to work out how many boxes of tea will be needed when bookings for 2016 are still coming through. Even harder when it comes to handmade chocolates that need to be ordered in very limited numbers due to a very limited shelf-life.
Our cleaning teams, along with our supervisors and managers have had to carry out a final maintenance check to each property to see if any replacements or repairs are needed for the busy season ahead. Tomorrow will be a delivery to 2 large, luxury holiday homes in Dorset and the supplies being delivered include: several items of luxury bed linen (100% Egyptian Cotton) to replace worn items, oven gloves and tea towels to replace tired stock, toilet brushes and holders (nice, new fresh items for a new season), replacement soap dispensers (to replace chipped and tarnished stock), dishwasher salt, fresheners & cleaners, general cleaning chemicals, welcome pack items include handmade chocolates, locally produced lemonade, locally blended tea bags, luxury coffee and local biscuit assortments.
During February we will be carrying out repairs to buttons on duvet covers, checking through games and children's toys and books for damage, signs of wear and tear and missing pieces, freshening up drains, filters, sealant and grout, among a host of other checks and tasks. Beds have already been stripped and duvets, pillows, mattress & pillow protectors, throws and cushion covers and throws have been taken for specialist laundering, and should be returned during February.
At the beginning of March our specialists are booked in to carry out deep cleans and servicing to ovens, agas, and extraction canopies, windows, frames, fascias, soffits and guttering, carpets and upholstery. Our cleaning and housekeeping staff do a fantastic job of maintaining such busy holiday-let properties all year round, but with such heavy use from hen parties to reunions, birthday parties, wedding parties and rambling holidays, we have to schedule-in periodic maintenance. It doesn't mean any down-time though. These scheduled events are carefully fitted-in when the properties are not booked-out.
