It is critically important to have a flow of good indoor air quality throughout a building so as to ensure a supply of fresh air and minimize the risk of indoor air pollution from sources such as dirty air ventilation, mound, radon and carbon monoxide. Indoor air pollution can have a serious impact on your health, both immediately and in the long-term, and statistics from the World Health Organization show that 4.3 million people die annually because of substandard indoor air quality. That's just under four times the entire population of Birmingham.
It is well worth knowing what causes indoor air pollution and how we can...Read more

Well it looks like we should achieve our end-of-January deadline for delivering supplies to all the contracts including the holiday lets we manage, so a big 'thank you' to all involved. We have also managed to book in all the annual deep cleans and servicing to our holiday lets well ahead of our March deadline which is a huge achievement for the teams, and was necessary this year because all of our holiday lets are busier than ever!
The cleaning and housekeeping teams have worked hard to stock-check and manage orders according to the booking forecast, shelf-life of products and storage on various sites. It really isn't an easy job to work out how many boxes of tea will be needed when...Read more

From locally sourced Lemonade and Biscuits, to fine Wine from around the world, what are the best items to have in a luxury holiday let welcome hamper?
Here at the Cleaning Services Group we see a variety of different types of welcome hamper at the luxury holiday lets we clean and prepare for guests. The items in the welcome hampers have to be of a high quality, so as to reflect the standards of the property, but at the same time they must have longevity so they can be left out, sometimes overnight, for guests, and stored between bookings without spoiling.
Fresh produce, although tempting, brings with it difficulties. Fresh produce needs ordering specifically for...Read more

The Cleaning Services Group Ltd started trading as such in March 2008 and in this first year managed to effectively break even. 2009 -2010 saw us suffer from the massive downturn in the economy as the recession really started to take its effect on businesses. In that financial year we saw our turnover drop by just under 8% which led to us making a relatively small loss. 2010 - 2011 the economy leveled out and we managed to increase turnover back to the 2008 level and 1.5% beyond that, consequently we were back into profit and covered our losses from the previous year. 2011 - 2012 saw the economy beginning to grow and we took advantage of this widening our customer base to bring about a very dramatic 98.5% increase in our turnover....Read more

We get a fair number of calls over a one month period from clients who have either forgotten to organise the cleaning, didn't think it would need a clean, have been let down by other cleaning companies or just thought that they could do it themselves. These clients range from private tenants trying to organise a last minute end of tenancy clean to building contractors organising a builders or sparkle clean.
It constantly surprises us how many cleaning companies let their clients down either by simply not turning up or canceling the clean at the last minute. In all the years that we have been running we have never failed to carry out a clean once it has been organised.
When these...Read more

Last week we went through three audits for our various ISO accreditations; 9001, 14001 and 45001. We are very pleased to announce that we passed all three audits with flying colours. It was a very exhausting week with these audits taking place and trying to organise large builders cleans in Swindon, Slough, Camberley and Aldermaston together with some 11 store cleans of TK Maxx in London (Putney, Kew, Hounslow, Gracechurch Street, Leyton, Kingston, Bromley, Woking, Kilburn, Brent Cross, and Harrow). All of these stores were visited Tuesday and Thursday of last week to assess the level of cleaning required and the actual cleaning programme commenced last night and will continue through until next Tuesday night. We had at the start of this financial year (starting March) plans in place to increase our turnover this year by 30%, 20% for 2014-2015 and 15% for 2015 -2016 with a similar increase of course in our profitability. With 5 months to go before our year end we have already exceeded the 2013-2014 target and even with the expected slowdown over December and January within our sphere of cleaning we are projected to hit the target for the following year. Consequently targets for 2014-2015 have had to be adjusted upwards. This unexpected rapid growth has been achieved without jeopardising our overall financial stability which is a risk associated with rapid growth.
This remarkable growth has been achieved thanks to our...Read more

The cleans are arranged for the convenience of the individual stores either early morning or evening with one or two being cleaned during quieter times during the day. We have been fortunate enough to see a steady rise in the number of commercial buildings being either refurbished or complete new builds. The rise in the number of enquiries to us for such cleans has shown a steady increase over the past two months which demonstrates that the construction industry on the commercial building side is making something of a recovery which hopefully will be sustained over the next few months and into 2014. Over the past month (August) we have completed builders cleans/Sparkle cleans at projects in both Bournemouth and Southampton Universities as well as two primary schools in Dorset.Ongoing through September we have a refurbishment programme taking place at Orpington Hospital which requires our...Read more

The first quarter of this financial year (March - May) showed a 48% increase in sales over the same quarter for 2012, whilst the second quarter (June - August) has shown an astonishing 152% increase in sales over the same quarter for 2012. Consequently TCSG is well ahead of its projected target for the year. Since its inception in 2008 TCSG has demonstrated consistent growth year on year of about 12% per year, which in the economic climate prevailing over the 5 years 2008 - 2012 is excellent in itself. The expected performance 2013 - 2014 is quite remarkable and can be attributed to our excellent customer services; our ability to react quickly and flexibly to our customers and of course our high standard and quality of the...Read more
